If you're on this page, you've likely heard of a TWIC card, but you may not know exactly what it is or what it means for truck drivers. So, let's begin with the basics: What does TWIC stand for, and what is a TWIC card? A TWIC, which stands for Transportation Worker Identification Card, is issued by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and grants drivers access to secure maritime ports. Without one, you won't be able to pick up or deliver freight from any port, and less available freight options means less take home money for you.

You’re a truck driver who spends most of your day in the truck or getting hot and sweaty securing and tarping loads. You probably don’t even have time (or access to) a shower every day, so why does your orientation wardrobe matter?
